New Book Highlights Glory Of White Rock Lake
Sally Rodriguez, a City of Dallas employee and Dallas Park and Recreation Department historian, chronicles the history of White Rock Lake in her new book. White Rock Lake presents the lake’s remarkable beginnings and includes notable vintage images such as White Rock Creek prior to the construction of the lake and a World War II POW camp at White Rock Lake. The majority of the images included were culled from the City of Dallas Municipal Archives, Dallas Park and Recreation Department and Water Utilities Collection. Book royalties will benefit the Dallas Park Foundation, Historic Events and be used for the Centennial Celebration of White Rock Lake next year.
