Recreation & Fitness

  1. Kayak Power Contact Mike Swope, a partner in this kayak company. He teaches classes and picks up trash from a kayak at White Rock Lake.
  2. Corinthian Sailing Club The Corinthian Sailing Club maintains a section on the history of White Rock Lake and on this sailing club.   3. Dallas Military Fitness Military-style fitness training at White Rock Lake.
  4. Dallas Running Club The Dallas Running Club (formerly Cross Country Club of Dallas) is the largest running and walking organization in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. They primarily run at White Rock Lake. Long-time supporters of FTLOTL.
  5. White Rock Rowing The White Rock Boathouse, Inc., a non profit corporation, has restored the 1930's boathouse at T.P. Hill for use as a rowing facility.
  6. Dallas Trekkers The Dallas Trekkers exists to promote non-competitive walking and other family oriented sports activities. Many of their walks are not at the lake, but some are.
  7. Mariner Sails Every Thursday night at 6:30, kayakers from this Adopt-A-Shoreline group meet at White Rock Lake for a mid-week break. If you own a kayak come join us.
  8. Dallas Arboretum A public botanic garden which promotes the art, enjoyment and knowledge of horticulture, while providing opportunities for education and research.
  9. White Rock Boat Club. WRBC offers sailing classes, fleet racing and regattas, and parties for members who own sailboats, kayaks and canoes.


  1. An Unofficial Guide to Scenic White Rock Lake Park "Unofficial White Rock Lake historian" Dr. Steven Butler has developed a fine web site about the history of White Rock Lake Park.
  2. Keep Texas Beautiful Keep Texas Beautiful's mission is to educate and engage Texans to take responsibility for improving their community environment. FTLOTL has been a long-time partner of KTB and vice versa.
  3. The Bath House Cultural Center Located on the shores of beautiful White Rock Lake, the Bath House Cultural Center is a welcoming venue for visual and performing artists from an array of backgrounds. The historic, Art Deco-style Bath House houses a 116-seat black-box theater, three gallery spaces, the White Rock Lake Museum, and a number of multipurpose spaces.
  4. Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center We raise awareness and build support for the Bath House Cultural Center, the first neighborhood cultural center in Dallas, Texas.
  5. White Rock Lake Photo essay This is a nice photo gallery of White Rock Lake Park.
  6. JR's New White Rock Lake Bird Journal This is a nice bird journal of White Rock Lake.
  7. White Rock Lake Museum FTLOTL is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the new White Rock Lake Museum. The museum is housed in the Bath House Cultural Center.
  8. Dallas Dog Parks Dallas Dog Parks supports the dog park at White Rock Lake and other such parks in the area.
  9. Dallas Storm Water Management Storm drains lead to creeks and our beloved lake. The City of Dallas Storm Water Management is trying to educate citizens about the hazards of dumping anything into the storm drains.
  10. Texas Parks and Wildlife WRL page The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department page about fishing at White Rock Lake.
  11. YMCA @ White Rock The local YMCA branch located at the intersection of Garland Road and Gaston, near the spillway.
  12. White Rock Lake Foundation The White Rock Lake Foundation raises money to improve White Rock Lake Park.
  13. DART White Rock Station Lest we forget: we can get to the Lake on DART rail!
  14. Advocate Magazines The Advocate Magazines are delivered free to the neighborhoods surrounding White Rock Lake Park. They have been supporters of the lake and FTLOTL.
  15. Plaza Solana Between the Boat House (near TP Hill) and the Pump House is a new plaza donated by some benefactors. FTLOTL was not involved with this project.
  16. Texas Stream Team is a network of trained citizen monitors and supportive partners working together to gather information about the natural resources of Texas and to ensure the information is available to all Texans.
