Celebration Tree Grove is a tranquil, uplifting space on the northeast edge of White Rock Lake Park dedicated to honoring, remembering, and celebrating Lake Lovers of the past, present and future.
Over the last few weeks, the stone structures that anchor Celebration Tree Grove have been defaced and commemorative bronze plaques stolen from the site. We are heartbroken by these acts of theft and vandalism.
Initial estimates by our team forecast upwards of $5,000 to support restoration efforts to the site and repairing what we have lost.
To help fund the unforeseen repair costs, For the Love of the Lake is requesting donations from our community. In addition to creating a space for reflection, the grove also contributes to reforestation efforts along White Rock Lake.
Elizabeth Sullivan with For the Love of the Lake Foundation said,“For the Love of the Lake is devastated by these careless acts of vandalism. Celebration Tree Grove, the space that so many of our neighbors visit to honor, remember and celebrate their loved ones, has been violated and our hearts go out to those who have been affected. In partnership with the City of Dallas Park and Recreation department, we are committed to developing solutions to deter this from happening in the future and to the continued cultivation of the tree grove.”
