NTX Giving Day helps build awareness and support for nonprofits in our region like nothing else. Every year in September, Communities Foundation of Texas’ NTX Giving Day challenges and galvanizes residents across North Texas to fundraise for and donate to their favorite charitable causes. The one-day online giving extravaganza has become the largest community-wide giving event in the nation and has ignited a broad culture of community-wide giving.
Early giving is NOW OPEN and we have an ambitious goal of raising $20,000 by September 21st! As we like to say, “every litter bit helps,” so even $5 can make a big impact. Be a part of the action and support For the Love of the Lake by donating through this link!
Why For the Love of the Lake?
As you may know, For the Love of the Lake is a 501(3)c nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of White Rock Lake Park as an urban oasis, and to ensuring those who enjoy White Rock Lake Park actively engage in service to maintain the environment for future generations.
We host a monthly White Rock Lake clean up event known as Second Saturday Shoreline Spruce Up, we support numerous groups who adopt different areas around the lake to keep clean, and we partner with Dallas Park and Recreation Department on meaningful improvements throughout White Rock Lake Park. With your help, funds raised through NTX Giving Day will help provide our organization and volunteers with essential supplies, including:
- Trash bags
- Grabbers and long grabbers
- Gloves
- Long nets
- Kayaks
- Life jackets
- Sunscreen and bug spray
In addition to these supplies, which support hundreds of volunteers every month, your donation will also contribute to the continued support of major projects and improvements that we execute in partnership with the Dallas Park and Recreation Department; our latest endeavor being the improvement of ADA-compliant tables to make White Rock Lake Park a more accessible and welcoming place for all to enjoy.
